Source EVEN MORE nutritious food!

Locating and utilizing multiple sources of food is extremely important to the sustainability of your program. Here is another great resource for you to do just that!

AmpleHarvest.org is a national 501c3 organization that works to connect food pantries and soup kitchens to local farmers and growers. Many farmers find themselves with more produce than they can use and food pantries and soup kitchens are always looking for more ways to source additional nutritious food for their patrons. Just in Time for Fundraising Season!


New!  Donate Button on your Agency Page!


Good Shepherd Food Bank partner agencies now have the option to add a DONATE button to their Agency Profile Page!



When you login to edit your profile page, there is now a box that you can check which will add the button to your page. Donations collected through this online form will be added to your agency account at Good Shepherd Food Bank. Donors to your account receive a confirmation/thank you email that indicates they have given to your particular agency.

Grant Opportunity from Wal-Mart!

Calling all food pantries, soup kitchens and mobile food delivery programs! Apply to be selected to win a $20,000 grant from Walmart.

Are you a food pantry, soup kitchen or food delivery program that would benefit from additional funds to better serve people in your local community? This holiday season, Walmart will provide $1.5 million in support of 75 food pantries* across the country, based on votes by the public through its holiday giving campaign.

The application for Walmart’s holiday giving program is now open and will close on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 11:59 pm EDT. The invitation code is jholiday.

Applications will be reviewed by Walmart. Agencies that are selected by Walmart for voting purposes will be uploaded to Walmart’s website, and those that receive the most votes through various online channels will receive a $20,000 grant to support infrastructure and equipment improvements.

You will have to create a password and supply information on your program's 501c3.  Have this documentation ready to help speed up the application process.  Hurry!  The application is due by 11:59 pm this Sunday, November 9th!
